Not only can you have a hiking stick or trekking poles and a camp stool with only five ounces in your pack, you don't have the extra cubic inches that a traditional stool may consume. So maybe you could down size your pack and therefore reduce your pack weight even more. Sweet!!BooRockhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01299486669739177086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8417187925491178582.post-50620912543010010452012-09-29T07:01:00.000-07:002012-09-29T07:03:56.934-07:00Ultra light backpacking with the new StikstoolsTerrapathic Engineering wants to thank all the hikers, backpackers and ultra light hikers and backpackers for your positive response to the two new carbon fiber Stikstools. For those who prefer trekking poles, the Stikstool carbon fiber model CF002, and for those who prefer using a hiking stick, the Stikstool carbon fiber model CF001. Never carry more than six ounces in your pack and always have a comfortable camp stool with you. Sweet!!!
The Fall colors are coming soon. Lets plan some backpacking trips now. If you plan it and put it in your schedule you will plan other things around it. If you don't, you will always have too many things to do and think you can't go. Fall is one of my favorite times to be deep in the backcountry. Don't miss out.
Be sure to order your new Stikstool for your outdoor adventure. With three models to choose from, I'm sure we have one to suit your needs.BooRockhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01299486669739177086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8417187925491178582.post-41932916212546501522012-09-20T12:16:00.003-07:002012-09-20T13:27:14.910-07:00The Original Stikstool trekking poles with straps

Comfort of course coming from sacrificing your comfort at the campsite so you can carry less weight on your back. Trust me I've considered the same. But I have spent enough time on the trail to know that you don't always get to camp at your favorite site, or get a site with a log, or get a site with a dry log ( some are pretty soggy to sit on ), and I have sat on the ground which is real uncomfortable to me. I still see the other extreme which is a lounge chair strapped to the outside of a pack. Come on people, it is all about enjoying the great outdoors. Use a Stikstool as your hiking stick or trekking poles and have your camp stool be at the campsite without having to carry it on your back. I relish my time at the campsite as much as my time on the trail. Why sacrifice at all. Go ultralight and go in comfort with the Stikstool carbon fiber model CF001, Stikstool aluminum model SS001 or the Stikstool carbon fiber trekking pole model CF002. Get yours today and get out in the woods and enjoy the trail and the campsite in comfort. Trekking pole manufacturers advise you to adjust the length of the poles for up hill, down hill and flat terrain. I am 49 years old and have hiked most of my life. Very few hikes are on trails that are a constant flat, up or down terrain. Even on trails that have considerable elevation gain have switch backs and down hill sections. To constantly stop and adjust two poles every time the trail ahead changes is, to me, ludicrous. Where is the comfort and enjoyment in that? Most all of them have handles that make it awkward to grip the pole anywhere but on the handle which is uncomfortable (unless you change the length) when the terrain changes.
Now with the new Stikstool Model CF002 lightweight carbon fiber trekking poles, you don't have to constantly stop and change the length of the pole. With the generous 10 inch grip of the Stikstool all you have to do is grip the pole in a different spot. Simple!BooRockhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01299486669739177086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8417187925491178582.post-59631178915163513882011-08-26T13:00:00.000-07:002011-08-26T13:13:54.807-07:00The Stikstool for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts! The Stikstool makes a great gift for the Boy Scout or Girl Scout in your family. I have been on many backpacking trips where scouts have camped in the same area that I was camping. I still see chairs strapped to outside of backpacks. Help the scout in your family enjoy their adventure more by taking some weight off their back with the Original Stikstool (www.stikstool.com). Their camp chair will always be with them. Thats all you need to carry in your pack. The seat, collar and 4 end caps. Thats all, less than 5 ounces. Compare that to any comfortable seat or stool out there. I still see people using them. It is still a personal preference. I still see blogs where comments about the Stikstool is too heavy. They comment as if you were carrying it on your back. It weighs less than a wooden hiking stick. Now I realize you can make a wooden stick weigh as much as you want. I weighed several and the average is above 26 ounces. How weak are these hikers? My children hiked with hiking sticks that weighed more than 26 ounces. I'll say it again, how weak are you? Have you ever hiked with a wooden hiking stick and at the end of the hike said, wow that is one heavy stick?
Are the trekking poles just a fashion statement? Can one hold the weight of a hiker leaning heavily on it, or do you need two? Do those who prefer trekking poles tell their friends, hey I'm going trekking this weekend. I don't, I go hiking. I can't tell you how many times I need a hand to grab a rock or tree to get to where I am going. I like having a free hand.BooRockhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01299486669739177086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8417187925491178582.post-59067115156192248832011-02-13T04:46:00.000-08:002011-02-13T04:55:09.755-08:00Stikstool update! The Stikstool has recently had another manufacturing process improvement. The Stikstool weighs less than 26 ounces. A pair of lightweight trekking poles weigh about 20 ounces. Is it less weight? Yes, but can a 350 pound man sit on the trekking poles? NO. The trekking poles used to be noisy but they probably have taken the clanking out since I owned some. I personally don't like dealing with two sticks. I know some people with back pain may find them comforting. I like to be able to wipe my forehead or take a picture without dealing with a strapped on trekking pole. Just my personal preference. The Stikstool weighs less than my daughters old wooden stick she used since she was 7 years old. Someone said 26 ounces was heavy. I beg to differ. If you compare it to a 10 ounce trekking pole it is heavier, but 26 ounces is not heavy. What kind of wimp are you? Should you even be out in the wilderness? Also now you don't have to carry the 18 ounce stool in your backpack. Also to compare price, the Stikstool is $30.00. The trekking poles $70.00 and the stool $20.00 equals $90.00. Pound for pound, ounce for ounce, dollar for dollar, the Stikstool is by far the best deal in my hiking book.BooRockhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01299486669739177086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8417187925491178582.post-55614956913612011632010-08-06T05:00:00.000-07:002010-08-06T05:07:45.941-07:00Free Stikstool !!!The Stikstool is now available at www.stikstool.com. It is called the "stikstool". If you are a backpacker you need to try one. It is a hiking stick that breaks down to assemble into a tripod stool without using any tools. I always hated carrying the extra weight of a seat or chair on backpacking trips. I have broken two of the flimsy backpacking stools and never liked the metal rods poking the fabric of my backpack. This stool is very strong and sturdy. The stick is sturdy as well. It is 20 times stronger than most of the expensive sticks out there. Hats off to you Stikstool, you are a great idea that saves space and weight.BooRockhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01299486669739177086noreply@blogger.com0
