Backpacking...add a camp stool and loose weight and cu inches...genius

For all of the ultralight backpackers, something else to consider while looking at the advantages of the Stikstool is cubic inches. Not only can you have a hiking stick or trekking poles and a camp stool with only five ounces in your pack, you don't have the extra cubic inches that a traditional stool may consume. So maybe you could down size your pack and therefore reduce your pack weight even more. Sweet!!

Comfort while backpacking

For those who choose to sit on a log or on the ground for comfort while backpacking. Comfort of course coming from sacrificing your comfort at the campsite so you can carry less weight on your back. Trust me I've considered the same. But I have spent enough time on the trail to know that you don't always get to camp at your favorite site, or get a site with a log, or get a site with a dry log ( some are pretty soggy to sit on ), and I have sat on the ground which is real uncomfortable to me. I still see the other extreme which is a lounge chair strapped to the outside of a pack. Come on people, it is all about enjoying the great outdoors. Use a Stikstool as your hiking stick or trekking poles and have your camp stool be at the campsite without having to carry it on your back. I relish my time at the campsite as much as my time on the trail. Why sacrifice at all. Go ultralight and go in comfort with the Stikstool carbon fiber model CF001, Stikstool aluminum model SS001 or the Stikstool carbon fiber trekking pole model CF002. Get yours today and get out in the woods and enjoy the trail and the campsite in comfort. Order now and plan your next trip.

Stikstool vs trekking pole disadvantages

Some things to consider when deciding to purchase a hiking stick (Stikstool) or trekking poles. Trekking pole manufacturers advise you to adjust the length of the poles for up hill, down hill and flat terrain. I am 49 years old and have hiked most of my life. Very few hikes are on trails that are a constant flat, up or down terrain. Even on trails that have considerable elevation gain have switch backs and down hill sections. To constantly stop and adjust two poles every time the trail ahead changes is, to me, ludicrous. Where is the comfort and enjoyment in that? Most all of them have handles that make it awkward to grip the pole anywhere but on the handle which is uncomfortable (unless you change the length) when the terrain changes. Now with the new Stikstool Model CF002 lightweight carbon fiber trekking poles, you don't have to constantly stop and change the length of the pole. With the generous 10 inch grip of the Stikstool all you have to do is grip the pole in a different spot. Simple!

The Stikstool for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts!

The Stikstool makes a great gift for the Boy Scout or Girl Scout in your family. I have been on many backpacking trips where scouts have camped in the same area that I was camping. I still see chairs strapped to outside of backpacks. Help the scout in your family enjoy their adventure more by taking some weight off their back with the Original Stikstool (www.stikstool.com). Their camp chair will always be with them. Sturdy, convenient and comfortable.

Stikstool - New website

The Original Stikstool has published a new website. Check it out.

Stikstool - The lightest stool bar none

The Stikstool weighs less than 5 ounces. Thats all you need to carry in your pack. The seat, collar and 4 end caps. Thats all, less than 5 ounces. Compare that to any comfortable seat or stool out there. Pads don't because they are not comfortable to me.

Stikstool - trekking vs hiking

When did the wooden hiking stick become unfashionable? I still see people using them. It is still a personal preference. I still see blogs where comments about the Stikstool is too heavy. They comment as if you were carrying it on your back. It weighs less than a wooden hiking stick. Now I realize you can make a wooden stick weigh as much as you want. I weighed several and the average is above 26 ounces. How weak are these hikers? My children hiked with hiking sticks that weighed more than 26 ounces. I'll say it again, how weak are you? Have you ever hiked with a wooden hiking stick and at the end of the hike said, wow that is one heavy stick?
Are the trekking poles just a fashion statement? Can one hold the weight of a hiker leaning heavily on it, or do you need two? Do those who prefer trekking poles tell their friends, hey I'm going trekking this weekend. I don't, I go hiking. I can't tell you how many times I need a hand to grab a rock or tree to get to where I am going. I like having a free hand.

Stikstool update!

The Stikstool has recently had another manufacturing process improvement. The process for manufacturing the couplings has changed slightly which results in a more accurate and consistent product.

Stikstool updates!!

The Stikstool now has a new lighter collar. It has been redesigned and is now smaller, thinner and lighter in weight. Also, the legs are now chamfered to make inserting them into the end caps easier and faster.

The Stikstool makes a great Christmas present for family or your hiking partner. Order now to receive your gift in time for Christmas!!!
